Mid Summer Party for 450 seated guests
Good Intents were delighted to be asked to design a marquee for a mid summer birthday celebration in the magical Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire. Our client wanted the marquee on their lawn but leaving space for an alfresco drinks reception. Lawn space was limited, so we suggested a 72 metre levelled floor marquee which cleverly bridged a haha, traversed a private road and continued along a sloping meadow to the shores of our client’s private lake. The party was a year in planning and we enjoyed working closely with our client to get the design and interiors perfect and nearer the the event date Natasha Sandeman from Sandeman Events was great at pulling all the suppliers together and managing the event from start to finish.
All the guests were collected from various train stations and transported to site, the younger generation were taken to a glamping field by ‘Honeybells’ and pampered ready for the party. The guests were entertainted on the lawn by Shakesperian jesters and acrobats, then all 450 guests dined under a black starlight marquee on 5 long runs of tables. Our friends A2Zest supplied a sumptious meal for the guests before speeches and evening entertainment. After the meal the guests were invited outside the marquee on to a decked clear veranda where they were amazed by the magical weightless heliosphere acrobat. The effects of the lighting by Knight Light Events and spiralling and spinning acrobat were truly magical. After the outside entertainment, guest danced the night away in the black starlit marquee, enjoyed cocktails from Shack Revolution and relaxed in the various chill out areas in the marquee and around the fire pits on the lawn.
